that, said, california, i'm sorely disappointed in you. i had no idea roughly half of you were homophobes. either that or maybe you just read the ballot wrong?

There is that. The state attorney general managed to win a small battle of changing the wording to say that it "eliminates the right of same-sex couples," but generally a ballot measure is couched in terms that imply that voting yes means you're giving someone something -- bond funds for children's hospitals, more funding for public transit, what have you.

I'm still incredibly disappointed in and hurt by a lot of people in my state tonight, though.
